Legacy Project
Chicago Center for Green Technology - Green Building Resource Center
The Chicago Center for Green Technology (CCGT) carries out its mission to serve as a community resource for green building technologies primarily through education, demonstration, and interpretation. Since its opening, CCGT has increased its visitorship with each consecutive year. The Center is on target to service 20,000 visitors in 2007. In addition, the USGBC – Chicago Chapter is headquartered at CCGT and hosts a variety of events at the Center.
This year, CCGT is celebrating its fifth anniversary of opening to the public. What better way to recognize the tremendous growth and success of CCGT than to embark on another partnership that yields a comprehensive green building library and resource center for the City of Chicago? This one stop resource will bring together much-expanded educational exhibits, a year-round product display space, a full resource and sample library, comprehensive e-services, educational opportunities, and on-staff experts to provide visitors with one-on-one guidance through the intricacy of green building issues. The Center will provide everything from architectural services to a searchable database of local, green building service and product providers to access to materials used in the build-out and as part of the Center’s on-site exhibits.
With the Center identified as the Greenbuild Chicago 2007 Legacy Project, the stage is set to increase the City’s ability to interact with its primary audiences and to continue to make Chicago the greenest city in the nation.
